Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers, utilizing proper body mechanics to ensure the safety of both the patient and the caregiver.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions, assisting patients as needed during mealtimes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, behaviors, and changes in condition in the electronic medical record.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to address concerns and provide updates.
- Adhere to all infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for residents.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active in the State of Texas required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and the ability to lift, push, and pull patients or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or home health is preferred.
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude and a commitment to high-quality care standards.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team-based healthcare setting.
