Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene as needed.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in health status to the RN supervisor.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in meaningful conversations to combat loneliness.
- Light Housekeeping: Assist with meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse, as instructed.
- Transportation Support: Accompany clients to medical appointments or errands as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Alaska Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health or personal care is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient demeanor.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and assist patients up to 50 lbs safely.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Driving: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.
