Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and medical history.
- Administrative Support: Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and electronic health record (EHR) updates.
- Assisting Providers: Accompany physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, assisting with minor procedures and recording patient notes.
- Lab Services: Perform basic lab tests, including blood draws and urinalysis, ensuring accuracy and proper handling of samples.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock exam rooms, medical supplies, and medications as needed.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals regarding appointments and test results.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and currently hold a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical or administrative experience in a medical setting is preferred.
- License: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth) and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Organization: Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
