Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and update medical records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assisting Providers: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist physicians and nurses during patient visits.
- Lab Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, process prescriptions, and manage prescription refill requests.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure exam rooms are clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications and post-care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification: CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) preferred; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required.
- Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and computer software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
- Location: Must be willing to work in Denver, CO.
