Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in a calm and professional manner.
- Vital Signs & Records: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms using electronic health records (EHR).
- Administrative Support: Manage patient intake, schedule appointments, verify insurance information, and prepare necessary medical documents.
- Laboratory Tasks: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and EKGs, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medications, post-procedure care, and health maintenance to patients and families.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean, sanitized clinic environment and strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations and infection control guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is highly preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR) and strong computer skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and clarity.
- Reliability: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
