Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries. Perform and prepare basic laboratory tests (e.g., urinalysis, blood draws).
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Schedule appointments and manage patient communications.
- Medication Management: Retrieve and prepare medications for the provider, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
- Environmental Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized clinical environment in accordance with infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification: Current certification as a CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical or medical office setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency with EHR systems and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
