Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height.
- Room Preparation: Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and functioning correctly.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist providers during patient examinations, including drawing blood, administering injections, and performing basic lab tests.
- Administrative Support: Manage prescription refills, schedule follow-up appointments, and handle patient inquiries via phone or email.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of medical supplies and notify management when reordering is needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is highly preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is a plus, but we are willing to train motivated candidates.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Reliability: Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends.
