Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Care: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow in the examination rooms.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, strictly adhering to safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR), manage appointment schedules, and handle billing inquiries efficiently.
- Infection Control: Ensure all examination areas are sterilized and sanitized according to hospital hygiene standards to prevent cross-contamination.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and clinical staff, providing clear instructions and answering questions regarding treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification.
- Licensure: Current CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or MA (NCMA) certification required; Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Certifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
