Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, including reviewing medical history and measuring vital signs, ensuring accuracy and privacy.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, preparing instruments and maintaining sterile field protocols.
- Manage and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by licensed providers, verifying patient allergies and contraindications.
- Coordinate patient appointments, lab orders, and referrals; communicate effectively with patients and insurance companies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment for both patients and staff.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and health maintenance plans.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex medical information clearly to patients.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (EHR).
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
