Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through effective communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Generate monthly reports for financial analysis and performance tracking
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience with insurance verification
- Certification (CPC, COC, or CCS) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athena, or NextGen)
- Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems
