Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical services using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding balances
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient inquiries with exceptional communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Utilize Epic EHR and Medisoft billing software for claim processing
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports and financial statements
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience required
- Certification (CPC, CBCS, or CCS-P) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy/physiology
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Advanced proficiency in billing software (Epic, Medisoft, or similar)
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
