Responsibilities
- Review and code medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Submit electronic claims to insurance carriers and government payers
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims with appropriate adjustments
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and insurance representatives
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing documentation
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all billing processes
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for billing operations
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience required
- Certification in CPC, CMA, or similar preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid HIPAA compliance training certificate
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
