- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit clean electronic claims to insurance payers and track reimbursement status
- Resolve claim denials and appeals within 15 business days
- Conduct patient billing inquiries with exceptional customer service
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing compliance standards
- Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation discrepancies
- Generate monthly accounts receivable reports for financial review
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certification through AAPC (CPC) or AHIMA (CCA) preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EPM systems
- Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Exceptional attention to detail with 99% accuracy claim submission rate
- Strong analytical skills for complex claim resolution
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
