Responsibilities
- Accurately verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery.
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance payers using CMS-1500 forms and electronic billing systems.
- Follow up on denied or delayed claims to ensure timely reimbursement and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Manage patient accounts, process payments, and handle billing inquiries professionally.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Stay current with changing healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and coding updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Medical Billing/Coding preferred.
- Previous experience in medical billing, claims processing, or a similar role required.
- Familiarity with EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
