Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications to patients and healthcare professionals with extreme accuracy and efficiency.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and medication orders to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Assist the pharmacist in reviewing prescriptions for drug interactions and contraindications.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical products.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries regarding prescriptions, insurance, and general health information.
- Operate pharmacy computer systems and point-of-sale (POS) terminals efficiently.
- Process returns, exchanges, and recalls in accordance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to sit for the certification exam (ExCPT/PTCB).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not always required for high-potential candidates.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills.
