Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient demographics and medical records to ensure complete and accurate coding.
- Submit claims to insurance carriers electronically and manually, adhering to payer guidelines.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to resolve issues efficiently.
- Analyze denial trends to identify root causes and implement corrective action plans.
- Manage patient billing inquiries, payment plans, and statement generation.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or healthcare finance.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CPT, or RHIT certification preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth experience is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance representatives.
