We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Medical Biller to join our growing finance team in Toledo, OH. Responsibilities
- Review and code medical records accurately using ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (CMS-1500 and electronic).
- Follow up on unpaid claims and appeals to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Maintain and update patient demographic and insurance information in the EMR system.
- Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, statements, and payment plans.
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and denials.
- Assist in the month-end close process for billing operations.
Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CPC-A certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in medical billing and collections.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote or hybrid setting.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing/Coding is a plus.
