Responsibilities
- Manage front desk operations including greeting patients warmly and managing the check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Answer incoming calls professionally, redirecting inquiries to the appropriate departments or staff members.
- Schedule patient appointments using electronic health records (EHR) systems and send confirmation reminders.
- Verify patient insurance information and collect copayments accurately using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, demographics, and medical histories.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and minimize wait times.
- Handle incoming mail and coordinate with vendors for office supplies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; medical receptionist certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical, dental, or front desk administrative setting is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification procedures.
