Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing, verification, and inventory control systems
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality standards
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care delivery
- Utilize pharmacy software for order entry and insurance verification
- Support compounding and sterile preparation when required
Qualifications
- Active NY Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Flexible availability including weekend shifts
