Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Ensure accurate patient identification and sample labeling for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to OSHA safety standards
- Process specimens and prepare them for transport to diagnostic labs
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient flow
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or P1)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from a recognized provider
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal discomfort to patients
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends
