Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections adhering to OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis
- Maintain sterile equipment and work environments
- Verify patient identity and provide post-procedure care instructions
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Uphold HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
Qualifications
- Current Maryland Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Basic computer proficiency with EMR systems
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 15-25 lbs
