Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Verify patient identities and maintain accurate specimen documentation
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory with chain-of-custody integrity
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood draw procedures
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA compliance standards
- Maintain clean, organized workstations and inventory of supplies
- Collaborate with medical staff for patient-specific collection needs
Qualifications
- Active Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic computer proficiency for EMR documentation
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- North Carolina phlebotomy license if required
