Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens according to CLIA/HIPAA standards
- Maintain sterile equipment and calibrated instruments
- Verify patient identity and prepare samples for laboratory analysis
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Provide clear patient education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with medical staff to resolve specimen issues
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT1 or CPT2)
- Minimum 1 year clinical blood draw experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Exceptional communication and bedside manner skills
- Proficiency in specimen handling protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
- Flexibility to work weekdays and occasional weekends
