Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control procedures
- Verify patient identity and prepare samples for transport
- Document procedures using EMR systems with precision
- Provide patient education and emotional support during procedures
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Maryland Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Proficient in venipuncture and pediatric techniques
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
