Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by sterilizing equipment and arranging necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
  • Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure nothing is left in the surgical wound.
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room while ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure proper functioning during surgical procedures.
  • Stock and inventory supplies to prevent shortages during critical moments.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
