What You'll Do
As a key member of our OR team, you will ensure the smooth operation of surgical procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and assisting surgeons with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Pre-Operative Prep: Prepare operating rooms with necessary surgical instruments, drapes, linens, and equipment prior to procedures.
- Sterile Field Maintenance: Maintain a sterile environment, ensuring all instruments and supplies are correctly counted and accounted for before and after surgery.
- Assistance: Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and materials efficiently and anticipating the next step.
- Patient Care: Transport patients to and from the operating suite, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Documentation: Accurately record and maintain patient data, surgical counts, and instrument inventory logs.
- Hygiene & Safety: Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting preferred.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications must be up to date.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
