Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to strict infection control protocols
- Count surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Operate and sterilize surgical equipment including cameras and scopes
- Document case details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in general surgery
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (schedule varies)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- BLS certification required (or obtain within 30 days)
