Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Handle surgical specimens with proper labeling and documentation
- Manage inventory and restock supplies between cases
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless case flow
- Operate sterilization equipment (autoclaves, etc.) per hospital standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year OR experience preferred
- BLS certification from AHA required
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgeon needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed
