Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide critical assistance to surgeons during operations by anticipating needs and passing instruments and sutures.
- Prep Operating Rooms: Ensure operating rooms are properly set up with sterilized instruments, equipment, and drapes before procedures begin.
- Maintain Sterility: Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and sterile field management to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Patient Care: Escort patients to the operating room, assist with anesthesia positioning, and provide post-operative comfort and support.
- Inventory Management: Monitor surgical supply levels, restock necessary items, and manage inventory to prevent shortages.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center setting preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients or equipment, and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
