Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using standardized triage protocols to determine acuity levels
- Provide expert medical advice via phone triage for patients with urgent concerns
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient flow and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) with detailed documentation
- Educate patients on appropriate care pathways and preventive measures
- Manage patient queues and optimize departmental efficiency during peak hours
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Florida with minimum 2 years emergency/urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Expertise in symptom assessment and acuity determination
- Exceptional communication skills for high-stress patient interactions
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic/Cerner preferred)
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
