Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone triage assessments using clinical protocols to determine patient acuity
- Provide expert medical advice to patients regarding symptoms, treatment options, and care escalation
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) with detailed documentation of all interactions
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to coordinate patient care pathways
- Educate patients on home care instructions, medication protocols, and preventive measures
- Handle emergency calls with calm professionalism and decisive action
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (CA)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department or urgent care experience
- Certified in Triage Nursing (ENA or equivalent)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
