Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephone and online triage assessments to evaluate patient symptoms and medical history.
- Apply critical thinking to distinguish between urgent, emergent, and non-urgent situations, ensuring timely escalation.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately and thoroughly in the EMR system.
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education regarding home care, medications, and preventative measures.
- Collaborate seamlessly with physicians, nurse practitioners, and care coordinators to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols regarding patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a triage or call center setting preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and computer navigation.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to strict protocols and quality standards.
