Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Assessments: Perform comprehensive phone and secure message-based evaluations to determine the urgency of patient conditions.
- Medical Decision Making: Utilize clinical guidelines to provide appropriate self-care instructions and triage recommendations to patients and caregivers.
- Documentation: Accurately and timely document all patient interactions, symptoms, and care plans within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Coordination of Care: Facilitate appropriate referrals to physicians, specialists, or urgent care facilities when necessary.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on preventative health measures, medication management, and wellness strategies.
- Queue Management: Efficiently manage high-volume patient queues to minimize wait times and ensure all patients are addressed promptly.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols regarding patient privacy and data security.
Qualifications
- License: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year of triage or urgent care experience preferred.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills with the ability to prioritize effectively under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly and empathetically.
- Technology: Proficient in navigating electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) and telehealth software platforms.
