Responsibilities
- Prepare and Package Medications: Accurately compound and label prescriptions according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify Prescriptions: Review physician orders for accuracy, completeness, and potential drug interactions before dispensing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, restock shelves, and manage medication expiration dates to ensure product availability.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients to answer questions regarding their medications and provide exceptional service.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate digital and paper records of all transactions and patient interactions.
- Assist Pharmacists: Support the pharmacy team in various operational tasks to ensure efficient workflow and compliance.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification required (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and speed.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, McKesson).
- Licensure: Valid North Carolina Pharmacy Technician license.
