Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately and efficiently under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information and insurance details to ensure billing accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Assist patients with medication questions and provide education on proper usage and storage.
- Process insurance claims and handle payment transactions using pharmacy software systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and DEA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current state pharmacy technician license in Michigan.
- Previous experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
