Your Role
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the medications they need safely and accurately. You will work closely with pharmacists to manage prescriptions, verify insurance, and interact with patients to provide excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify prescription information for accuracy and completeness, including dosage, form, and patient details.
- Process insurance claims and communicate with insurance providers to resolve coverage issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient questions regarding medications, dosages, and potential side effects.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
- Assist in the clean-up and organization of the pharmacy workspace to maintain safety standards.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
