Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain precise inventory management and medication ordering systems
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing inquiries
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations (DEA, HIPAA)
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Operate pharmacy technology systems including dispensing software and automation
- Conduct quality assurance checks and maintain sterile compounding standards
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures preferred
- Background check and drug screening clearance required
