Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceuticals
- Process insurance claims and handle billing transactions efficiently
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and health maintenance
- Maintain precise patient records and prescription documentation
- Ensure strict compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy technology including automated dispensing systems
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Pharmacy Technician license required
- Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
- CPhT certification through PTCB strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
