Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications according to physician orders and safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and order pharmaceutical supplies to ensure continuous availability.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients to answer questions regarding prescriptions, insurance, and medication usage.
- Assist Pharmacists: Support the Pharmacist in the reviewing of prescriptions, compounding, and verifying documentation.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation complies with state and federal regulations (HIPAA).
- Quality Assurance: Perform regular checks on medication orders to prevent errors and ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or be willing to obtain one.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and medical terminology.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform precise calculations and verify data with zero errors.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
- Licensure: Valid AZ Pharmacy Technician license required.
