Responsibilities
- Prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceuticals
- Process insurance claims and maintain accurate patient medication records
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and pharmacy board regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software for order entry and prescription tracking
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- 1+ years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for dosage calculations and inventory management
- High school diploma or equivalent required
