Responsibilities
- Accurately process prescriptions and verify medication orders
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and compounding compounds
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Provide exceptional customer service and patient counseling
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for patient care
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- 1+ years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy systems
- Virginia pharmacy technician license required
- Background check and drug screening clearance
