Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound pharmaceutical preparations under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing workflow including intake, verification, and final dispensing
- Maintain precise inventory control including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and health management
- Ensure HIPAA compliance for all patient records and confidential information
- Operate pharmacy technology systems including dispensing software and automated equipment
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and medication safety
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience required
- Proficient in pharmacy software systems (e.g., QS/1, Rx30)
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and dosage forms
- Excellent attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in high-volume settings
- Exceptional customer service skills with ability to address diverse patient needs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
