Responsibilities
- Dispense and compound medications with precision under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing, verification, and inventory control systems
- Provide patient education on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidential patient records
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy
- Operate automated dispensing technology and pharmacy software
- Assist with sterile compounding and IV admixture preparation
Qualifications
- Active NYS Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding protocols
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail with strong organizational abilities
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology
