Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Process insurance claims and patient billing transactions
- Counsel patients on medication usage and OTC product selection
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV preparations
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for workflow management
- Ensure compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and Texas State Board regulations
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and automated dispensing
- Strong attention to detail with zero-error medication handling
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Basic IV certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
