Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and label prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility for coverage
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain electronic health records and pharmacy software systems
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication discrepancies
- Ensure strict adherence to FDA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Clear background check and drug screening required
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex medical information
