Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately under pharmacist supervision while adhering to HIPAA and state regulations
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies
- Prepare sterile compounds and IV medications following aseptic techniques
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise patient prescription records
- Provide exceptional patient consultations on medication usage and side effects
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy outcomes
- Utilize pharmacy software for prescription processing and inventory tracking
Qualifications
- Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Strong communication skills for patient interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
