What You Will Do
As a Pharmacy Technician, your primary focus will be patient safety and operational efficiency within the pharmacy.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve, count, and verify prescription medications to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Prepare and package prescription labels and prescription containers according to facility protocols.
- Assist pharmacists with the interpretation of physician orders and medication history.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly cycle counts.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing equipment and computer systems to input and retrieve patient data.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions regarding medication usage and side effects.
- Adhere to all state and federal laws, regulations, and company policies regarding controlled substances and patient privacy.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required (PTCB or ExCPT).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Texas Pharmacy Technician license.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy software systems.
