Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications, verifying dosages and labels under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage the storage of controlled substances securely.
- Customer Service: Assist patients with inquiries regarding their prescriptions, insurance coverage, and medication therapy in a friendly and professional manner.
- Administrative Duties: Process insurance claims, update patient records, and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA.
- Quality Assurance: Perform routine checks to ensure the accuracy of dispensing and adherence to safety protocols and sterile compounding standards.
- Point of Sale Operations: Operate POS systems efficiently to handle transactions and manage the drive-thru window during peak hours.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active certification as a Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT or PTCB) required.
- Licensure: Current Georgia Pharmacy Technician license.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Attention to Detail: Proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in medication dispensing and documentation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using computer systems and pharmacy management software.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes of medication (up to 25 lbs).
