Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications, including counting, pouring, and labeling, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prescription Verification: Verify patient information and prescription details to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming shipments, and ensure proper storage and rotation of pharmaceutical products to minimize waste.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients, answering questions regarding medications, insurance coverage, and store policies in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Administrative Duties: Process insurance claims, handle copayments, and maintain accurate electronic records using pharmacy management software.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; PTCB or ExCPT certification is preferred.
- Licensure: Current, valid state Pharmacy Technician license is mandatory.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential for this role.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a retail pharmacy setting (e.g., CVS, Walgreens, Kroger) is highly desirable.
