Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and fill prescriptions in accordance with state and federal laws and company protocols.
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and medication orders to ensure safety and compliance.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and counting medications to prevent shortages.
- Assist patients with medication questions and provide outstanding customer service at the counter.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing equipment and pharmacy management software systems efficiently.
- Prepare sterile intravenous (IV) medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility for registration (PTCB or ExCPT certified).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
